What is PRAXIUM?

Praxium A Bonneville School District Mastery Program

WHAT IS PRAXIUM MASTERY ACADEMY?

prax·i·um (noun, from the Greek /praksÉ™s/): an institution where knowledge and/or skills are applied or used in practice, rather than in theory alone.

PRAXIUM is an honors track magnet school for Bonneville School District 93. PRAXIUM uses a student-centered educational system that promotes relevant learning while allowing flexibility in both time and teaching methods. Students can enroll by completing the District #93 waiver form!

WHAT DOES THIS LOOK LIKE FOR A TYPICAL STUDENT?

PRAXIUM is housed on the Rocky Mountain Middle School campus for the 2021-2022 school year. As the program continues to expand, there may be a need to move locations in the future. Students, whether from Black Canyon Middle School, Sandcreek Middle School, or Rocky Mountain Middle School, all attend PRAXIUM Mastery Academy in-person. Students needing transportation will be bused from their "home school" (the school to which they are assigned by their home address in the district) to the PRAXIUM Mastery Academy campus at RMMS each day. While there, students will complete a normal day of school using the mastery education model before being bused back to their "home school" to be transported home from there. Students have the same opportunities including athletics and extracurricular activities as all middle school students throughout the district (see the FAQ for Parents for more information).

Praxium A Bonneville School District Mastery ProgramWelcome!

PRAXIUM is a mastery-based school option where a student’s progress in learning is based upon a student’s demonstration of mastery of competencies and content, not just completion of assignments and scraping by with a "passing grade." Mastery-based learning at PRAXIUM focuses on educating the whole child—addressing their psychological, emotional, academic, and social needs. Students advance as they master concepts and skills, regardless of the time it takes to get there. With mastery education, the approach and pace in a classroom are designed to match each student’s unique personality, needs, and learning style. PRAXIUM meets children where they are and lets them learn in ways that are best for them. Specific information can be found by clicking the links on the right!

If you feel this is a good fit for your child and you are wanting to enroll at PRAXIUM for next year, just complete the open enrollment form found at https://lff.d93.k12.id.us/Forms/OE and select “Praxium Mastery Program” as the receiving school of choice. Then we’ll do the rest! Registration/enrollment ends SOON! If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. We hope to see your child next year and to have them enroll!

Kindest regards,
